The Dare to Soar Telesummit Recordings
All of the mini-workshops at our February 12, 2022 Telesummit were recorded, and you can listen to all of them for free.
Survival Guide for Dreamers
If you’ve got a dream (or wish you had one) it’s time to stop being stuck. Let us send you 365 days of Barbara’s help with procrastination and Resistance. This new program is designed to give you exactly what you need to finally get moving. Here’s how it works: One day at a time for a full year Barbara will be with you via a brief email, helping you get past the procrastination and resistance that have kept you from achieving your dreams. That’s it. No exercises to do. No discussions to keep up with. Just an email a day to encourage you and teach you how to deal with whatever prevents you from going after your dreams. Begin your Survival Guide year at any time.
Barbara Sher Book Clubs
Our next book club will read Live the Life You Love from July 20 through November 8th. Registration will open on July 6th. Members of ongoing book clubs should contact firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance. Even after our official reading period has ended, members are still welcome to add comments for the full year. You won’t be alone in finishing the exercises.
Thinking Through Refuse to Choose: 101 things every Scanner should know
Are you a Scanner? These are people with a different (and often misunderstood) type of mindset: they’re curious and smart, always happiest when learning something new. But no matter how promising a path may appear, Scanners can never give up their love of exploring. And therein lies the problem: despite their passionate engagement with the world and their love of life, Scanners are unable to decide on one path, and they’re often afraid that there’s something horribly wrong with them. It’s usually forgotten that such people were once admired for their wide range of knowledge, even called Renaissance thinkers. Now they’re often labeled as immature, lazy dilettantes by a culture that prizes specialization above all else. I wrote this 99-cent Kindle book (with two great helpers) to highlight the top 101 takeaways from my book, Refuse to Choose! Use All of Your Interests, Passions, and Hobbies to Create the Life and Career of Your Dreams. Use it as an introduction or as a reminder after you read the book. Purchase this Kindle book here.
WriteSpeak Online: Write Your Own Success Story
WriteSpeak Online registration is closed now until February 10, 2024. This is Barbara’s entire WriteSpeak program—the 6-hour, highly interactive Teleworkshop plus a new 48-week online version of the material that was in her WriteSpeak retreat and telecourse, all for a fraction of the earlier price. The course is now taught by Patty Newbold, who taught it with Barbara since 2007, and Patrice Jenkins, a member of that first group and the first WriteSpeaker to be published, who taught it with Barbara and Patty in 2020 and with Patty since then. We also offer optional monthly group coaching and one-on-one coaching. Those who have already completed the required Teleworkshop and want to add the 48-Week Course should write to email@example.com.
For more information, check out barbarasclub.com/writespeak or listen to this Telesummit recording: How to Become a Writer and Speaker by Next February. New member registration will open again on February 10, 2024. Come find your message and your audience and begin your writing and speaking career.
Be sure you are on the mailing list to hear about new programs the moment they are available. The mailing list sign-up is under Barbara’s photo at the bottom of this page.
Miss you and love you, Barbara.
So sweet, Current. We do, too.
Is anyone still certifying coaches in Barbara’s programs?
No. She spent five weekends doing workshops with each group of coaches in addition to the online program we still have a copy of. At this point, you will need to apprentice with one of her coaches, listed at http://barbarasher.com/coaching.htm
By chance is there a new “life the life you love” book club coming up?
Registration should open on March 24th, Christine.
Do you also have a course on life coaching, based on Barbara’s books?
Hi Deb. I am not teaching formally at the moment, but yes I have taught life coaching based on Barbara’s books. My coaching sessions were encouraged and endorsed by Barbara directly.
There was one, Deb. She taught a number of coaches. The ones in public practice are listed at http://barbarasher.com/coaching.htm
My local library got rid of Barbara’s books. I know because I had them checked out. When I try to check them out again, they no longer existed.
I used to work at a library. Sometimes people don’t realize that libraries get rid of books.
I work at a UK library and I tried to ask for Barbara Sher re-stocks. However the books are not bought in as the ISBN is non UK based. The only way to restock would be to personally but very new copies and ask for a branch library to add it as a donation.
It’s such a shame in a wold that is suppose to be global these days.
Yes! ISBNs are supposed to be global. Which books do you need, Katja? I have extras of some of them.
Hello! I was so sad to hear of Barbara’s passing – thank you for all that you are doing to keep her work alive!
I was wondering if there is a way to find more of her videos – I’ve seen a lot of partial videos on YouTube and would like to see them and/or others in full. Are they here anywhere? Thank you for your help. 🙂
Thanks, Christine. You can sometimes find her PBS specials on VHS or DVD for sale wherever used videos are sold. And you can find lots of her videos on YouTube. She has a channel, and there are more that are not part of the Barbara Sher channel. There are many clips from her in-person events (both audio and video) in her Hanging Out program.
Is it cheaper to purchase books from your group or amazon? I can not afford the support group or support book club.
Veronica, you can find most of Barbara’s books in your local library. You can read Wishcraft for free (in several languages) at wishcraft.com. And on Amazon, you can find lots of used copies for sale from their Abe Books or from indie book stores. If you want new copies, try Amazon or Bookshop.org (supporting local book stores). We sell here only the books and programs that are not available from any of them.
For people who boycott Amazon, is there another way to purchase and receive the mini book listed above, entitled “Thinking through Refuse to Choose”. It says it distills to 101 entries the ideas of the bigger tome.
Not at this time, Shelle. Barbara and Jennifer published it only as a Kindle book. I will put publishing it as a paperback that Bookshop.org could sell on our 2021 wish list. We’re doing a lot of catching up from our lost time from Barbara’s death.
I would love an early morning meet up group ☺️
Why not start one, Rebeca? Unless you live in Hawaii or Alaska or points west, I’m probably not awake when it’s early morning where you are.
With a new year here, and COVID, unfortunately still here, it seems there is a great need for Success Teams via Zoom, (or some other meet up platform).
I know that I really need one to get out of isolation and to work on realizing some dreams while stuck at home.
Any chance that can become a reality?
Sending you my best.
Hi, Terre. I have a (full) teleteam ready to begin on January 11th, and I am trying to choose a day of the week and time to begin another. Please write me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any advice on what works best.
