Weekend of Wishes, Cleveland 2023 over a view of downtown from the lakefront

Friday, April 28, 2023 – Sunday, April 30, 2023

What?
Weekend of Wishes Cleveland 2023
Creating success stories Barbara Sher style

Registration ends April 15

Why?
“Dreams are important, and you need someone in your life who cares about yours.”
– Barbara Sher

Where?
Beautiful downtown Cleveland Ohio! Cleveland is home to many exciting museums, restaurants to make most foodies jealous, and curious adventures to inspire Scanners. And we will be right in the middle of it all, at the Crowne Plaza Cleveland at Playhouse Square, complete with a discount for you on rooms there ($175 plus Cleveland’s 17.5% combined hotel taxes, available Thursday through Monday nights).

When?
April 28-30, 2023, Friday evening through midday Sunday
Make this your year to thrive, not just survive.

How?
Barbara Sher and Uncle Roy YokelsonSign up below as soon as possible! Check out all of the wonderful museums, food, lodging and fun in Cleveland and picture yourself there. Barbara called this type of workshop a Big Cheap Weekend because you register for the workshop and then you get to choose your own lodging and food based on your preferences.

Registration closes when we fill the venue or
at 5pm NY time on April 15th, whichever comes first.

Most importantly, WHO?
You, of course! Barbara said it best,

“You can be sloppy, sleepy, in the middle of a week-long self-pity party, stuffing yourself with ‘whine and cheese,’ overweight and under-groomed, or you can be scolding your lazy self like a fire and brimstone preacher—and you can still have your dream come true. All you need is a little help from your friends.”
– Barbara Sher

Naturally resistance will likely show up telling you scary things like stay at home where it is cozy, dreams aren’t for you, you are selfish- and on and on. (Barbara often said that it was more selfish to keep your dream to yourself and not share it, than to take the time and steps forward to make your dream a reality and share your needed gifts with the world!)

Barbara was known as the “resistance whisperer,” and she helped us realize that “The dreams you really care about are the scariest.”

The Details

No one can fill Barbara’s shoes and we would not even try!

Barbara knew she would not live forever, and she worked with a team to carry out her legacy and create pathways for individuals just like you to share your unique gifts with the world! Your facilitator for Weekend of Wishes, Tammy Garver, resonated with Barbara on a deep level as a single mother of two sons struggling financially and looking for a way to share her gifts with the world AND make ends meet despite adverse childhood experiences, resistance and procrastination.

A photo of Barbara Sher under a treeIn 2006 Tammy used Barbara’s idea of nailing up a sign for a workshop to earn money! Her goal was to travel to Greece to learn from Barbara at the first Scanner workshop in Corfu, even though she had no money to do so and had never traveled outside the US. Barbara’s techniques worked and Tammy joined Barbara in Corfu Greece and then participated in WriteSpeak and all of Barbara’s Book Clubs. She read every book Barbara wrote.

If she would not have said Yes to the first workshop, Tammy would not be part of the Barbara Sher team today! Tammy ‘walks the talk,’ and when she visited with Barbara shortly before Barbara’s passing, Barbara told Tammy that she simply must continue to do workshops. Barbara teased Tammy about “getting famous” and continuing the work, inspiring others to see for themselves that this works, so they will continue the work in their way with their unique gifts and dreams.

Tammy Garver, grinning and wearing a ring of flowers on her headA responsive and alive presenter with many years of experience being immersed in Barbara Sher’s methods is what Barbara had in mind for continuing live workshops, but the heart of the workshops is YOU. It won’t be the same without you.

The schedule will include free time for you to explore, find amazing food and fun, and enjoy your accommodations at your chosen hotel or lodging. The schedule (in Barbara fashion) will loosely resemble the following:

Friday evening — Pick up your registration packet any time between 6:00- 7:30pm and meet new friends to invite to dinner

Saturday — morning session, time for lunch with people you have met or quiet time on your own, afternoon session

Sunday — morning session and wrap-up

Of course the sessions will include Barbara’s iconic What Color Am I, Good Gossip, the Power of Negative Thinking and an Idea Party.

We won’t leave you hanging after this weekend workshop is complete. We’ll give you info on Success Teams. We’ll get you on our mailing list for future events and book clubs. And you might want to join Hanging Out before you come. A new group begins hanging out together, enjoying Barbara’s brain-nudging messages, on the Monday before we get together.

“Support is what makes the difference between success and failure: not your attitude, your mantra, or your toothpaste; just lots of help.”
– Barbara Sher

If you did not have what Barbara referred to as a “winning environment” growing up, joining our workshops can support you in creating your own winning environment! You are not alone.
