I have been so happy to share these weeks with you: to learn from all the insights you have shared and to applaud all your progress toward a wonderful second life. It’s been a lot of fun for me, and I thank you for being part of it. Watch the Barbara Sher newsletter for the announcement of future Barbara Sher book clubs. It’s Only Too Late If You Don’t Start Now: How I Changed

If you began this book club in a midlife crisis, I hope you have come out the other side renewed and ready for your wonderful second life. If you were already into your second life, like me, I hope you find yourself satisfied with your current path or your next great step.

If you remain unsure what your second life will look like, that’s okay. If you came away with a short list of dreams and some ideas for pursuing them, your time here was very well spent.

In the comments below, I hope you will share with us all how you have changed over our sixteen weeks together. Include how you are doing with week four of your Six-Week Standing Appointment With Yourself. Will you continue it past these first six weeks?

Be sure to read what others wrote and please give them a high five for their new understandings and new paths.

If you did not end this book comfortable with your second life and on the path to a dream, we’re not done with you yet. For the Success Teams leaders and coaches in this book club, including me, helping you is a welcome challenge. For those who changed course as a result of these exercises, helping you is a way to savor their hard work and good fortune. Tell us where you’re stuck. Do not go away shaking your head and saying "Maybe I just don’t deserve to live a life I love, except in my fantasies." Right now, speak up and ask for what you need. If you are still looking for ideas on how to get around the obstacles to a dream, use that marvelous “Idea Generator” sentence right here in the comments: “I want to do _______ [fill in the blank with your dream], but I can’t because of _______ [fill in the blank with your obstacle).”

Please be sure to subscribe to future comments on this exercise or to check back here on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning for new ones.

It’s Only Too Late If You Don’t Start Now: What I Learned

Go back over each of the exercises in your notes and each of your What I Learned comments here online. We’ve been at this for four months. Some of what you learned probably already seems old hat. Maybe you have forgotten some of it. To get the most out of the book and our book club, take the time for a careful review and write yourself some notes on what you most want to remember.

It would be wonderful if you shared your notes here with the rest of us. You will renew our attention to something we overlooked or confirm the importance and value of what we will take away with us.

Please be sure to subscribe to future comments on this exercise or to check back here on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning for new ones.
