Chapter 15, Exercise 2: Try the Serial Master Tool

Read Chapter 15 , then turn to the last page for the Scanner Tool Kit items that best help Serial Masters. Try at least one of the tools, two if this chapter describes you.

Only one of the Scanner Tools is recommended for Serial Masters, and it’s a very familiar one:

  • Tool 1: Your Scanner Daybook

In your own Daybook, write about a time (or more, if you’re a Serial Master) when you pushed beyond your personal limits to do something important to you. After you share your experience, read the rest of the comments and reply to a few.

Please be sure to subscribe to future comments on this exercise or to check back here on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning for new ones.

Use the Next link (up above the title) to continue on to Exercise 3: Picture a Serial Master Life Design and Career after you are done adding your comments.

  1. I don’t know that I’ve ever achieved mastery in anything, but I’ve definitely put the hours in in writing and problem-solving related careers. I’m definitely not a video games expert, but I started playing one from my childhood again for a couple hours. It did nothing for me. At this point, I enjoy watching gameplay more than playing, but I also don’t wish to spend much time watching that. I also used to love to watch movies, and dreamed of going to USC Film School for screenwriting, but now I’m much more interested in going out and shooting my own content and learning video editing. I don’t know that I go deep enough into a passion to ever gain mastery, but there’s two or three I COULD achieve mastery in the second half of my life.

    So I guess I’ll see…

  2. when i found myself beyond my limit in a variety of fields, i tended to switch focus to a new interest

with a couple current interests (organizing and muscle awareness/control), i’m focused on expanding my capabilities
