Read all about Double Agents, then turn to the last page of the chapter for the Scanner Tool Kit items that best help them. If this Type describes you, try at least two of the tools. If it does not describe you, try one of the tools anyway. They are not only for people trying to pursue two incompatible-at-first-glance interests.
Here are the Scanner Tools recommended for Double Agents:
- Tool 1: The “Busting Open Either/Or Thinking” Game on page 127
- Tool 2: Your 2-Year Wall Calendar on page 138
- Tool 3: Your Destination Steamer Trunks on page 139
- Tool 4: Your Scanner Daybook on page 140
Tell us which tool(s) you chose and give us a review. If you found it helpful, you might also want to give it a page of its own in your Daybook. After you share your experience, read the rest of the comments and reply to a few.

Use the Next link (up above the title) to continue on to Exercise 2: Picture a Double Agent Life Design and Career after you are done adding your comments.
The quiz called me a Double Agent, but after reading the other types, I’m not feeling it. I do aspire to get to telecommuting. Prioritizing kids means a time structure around the school calendar, but not necessarily freedom during the summer. I imagine things will change as they get older and more out of the house, but not in the Double Agent direction.
An acquaintance asked me for help today and I was thinking of many alternatives to their attempted path. That may come somewhat naturally to me.
I put a two year calendar in my daybook and perhaps i’ll note things down in it as they come to mind.
I’m thinking a lot about organizing possessions. I do things like destination steamer trunks and am feeling drawn to do more (and also tired because it’s hard to sleep when i’m excited about new possibilities).
I’m resisting the call to allocated a Daybook page for the items I plan to move across country next summer (in my two year calendar).
It’s very possible I’m a double-agent (at least partially). I’ve always vacillated between the artist brain and the “get a job to keep your family from asking stupid questions” brain. I spent many years living to please the wrong people. It also explains why I’ve had over 100 jobs and at least 4 “careers” in my life. Of course, the quiz couldn’t peg me down, so I suspect I have pieces of 3-4 of these.
