Take ten minutes to picture yourself living any one of the Life Design Models for Wanderers. Each of them is described somewhere in the chapter. What would be great about it? What would it be missing for you?
- The Odysseus Model
- The Itinerant Preacher Model
- The "I Might Need That Someday" Model
If you are a Wanderer, you might want to do this for each of them.
Now do the same, for ten minutes, with one of the careers for Wanderers.
- Income streams
- Expertise for Sale
If you are an unsatisfied Wanderer, create a Backward Planning Flowchart for moving toward one of these careers.
Write in your Daybook how each of these felt and what great ideas came up while you were daydreaming about them. In a new comment on this page, tell us which ones you tried on and what you discovered about them and about yourself. After you share your experience, read the rest of the comments and reply to a few. Do you have any Wanderers in your group?
Please be sure to subscribe to future comments on this exercise or to check back here on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning for new ones.
Use the Next link (up above the title) to continue on to What I Learned from Chapter 17 after you are done adding your comments.
“I Meet Need that Someday” sounds like me. I attend many events with no clear justification. I often find connections later.
Odysseus also sounds like me. I don’t know where my home is. I long for one so I can be away from it. I look for it rather than accepting where I am.
Similar to Motivational Speaker, Itinerant Minister sounds public for my comfort level. I do fantasize about sharing what I’ve learned.
