Zurück zu dir in fünf Minuten. Wie du den Stress stoppst und frei wirst für dein kreatives Abenteuer (in German)

[Note: Our first speaker writes in German and will conduct her workshop in German]

Speaker: Jana Lindberg, Scannerin, Schriftstellerin und Künstlerin, Entspannungstrainerin und Beraterin (Scanner, writer, artist, trainer and counsellor, adventurer of the mind)

Changing Plans the Right Way

“Make plans,” they say. “Make realistic plans.” You want to succeed and so you keep making one plan after another and dismissing them also one after another as “non-realistic.” Or even worse, you decide that you are unable to stick to your plans — and that that's a problem. Plans become a source of frustration that remind you that “you should have more discipline.” You start over again and try harder. New goal. New plan. New disappointment. Or you leave the planning altogether.

Let María Machón show how to deal with that planning frustration. Actually, many plans we would dismiss as “non-realistic” are perfectly fine and do their duty. You need to change them, yes, but the right way. In this workshop you learn the principles of “plan management.” You learn to recognize the difference between real re-planning and the plan changes that come from avoidance. So, you will discover planning as a very practical tool and re-planning as an even more practical one that will allow you to advance and feel your progress.

Speaker: María Machón, Pragmatic Personal Development, Coaching, Training, Success Teams

María MachónDr. María Machón holds a PhD in Physics and has been supporting her clients as Life- and Phd-coach for the past 7 years. She trained with Barbara Sher personally and works with prestigious institutions like the Albert Einstein Institut and the Humboldt Graduate School in Berlin. Specialized in the field of time- and self-management, she combines pragmatism, curiosity, empathy, humor and her many years of experience to guide her clients through the ups and downs of their projects and lives.

Join María for her Practical Time-Management teleworkshop series this fall. Advance your projects and learn time-management through experience. Dr. María Machón, a professional coach, guides you through all steps: goal setting, planning, and the actual working. You learn a new technique you can use on your own. And you don't procrastinate.

The sessions can be booked independently. All Berlin times:
Sept 29, 15:30-17:30
Oct 6, 10:00-12:00
Oct 12, 10:00-12:00
Oct 17, 10:00-12:00
Oct 17 (yes, the same day) 17:00-19:00

How to Be a Life Changing Author and Speaker by Next September

We'll be repeating this telesummit on February 9, 2019 with a new group of people who want to write books that change lives and earn good money by speaking about things that matter. If you've got ten hours a week available, beginning next March, you could be one of them.

WriteSpeak Online was developed by Barbara Sher, best-selling author of I Could Do Anything If I Only Knew What It Was, Wishcraft, Live the Life You Love, It's Only Too Late If You Don't Start Now and Refuse to Choose, to teach you the methods she's learned and invented to make it possible to make a good living as an author and speaker.

During this session, Barbara's WriteSpeak coaches Patty and Matt will answer all your questions about my year-long WriteSpeak program, which begins again next March. Registration opens on February 10th.

Matthew PearlMatthew Pearl has always loved finding what people want to say and helping them say it clearly. He got his big break as an editor in the 1990’s when New York Times best-selling author, Barbara Sher, asked him to edit her fourth book, Live The Life You Love. Three books later, Barbara still counts on Matt to, in her words, “know what I'm trying to say, even when I'm not sure myself.” Since 2008, he's been coaching first-time authors, writing about subjects they have a true passion for. His first job is to show clients that effective writing doesn't require experience or technical skill. Using the Living Language method, he's able to help them produce books that change people's lives.

Retirement COMPASS: How We Can Find Our Way When Life Has Lost Its Rhythm

Retirement forces us to live with the question, “What's next?” We're in the middle of something — just not sure what it is. We're in limbo, and it doesn't feel good. Our natural tendency is to relieve the tension of this ambiguous state by rushing into something…anything. The challenge for us is how to use this in-between time for self-discovery, exploration and opportunity.

In this mini-workshop, you'll learn about the COMPASS, a tool for navigating the in-between time when life seems to have lost its natural rhythm. With the guidance of a compass, you'll begin to develop a new sense of direction. You'll feel renewed hope, and a little hope goes a long way to helping you find your way

Answering the Dreaded “What Do You Do?” Question: How to Create a Clear, Concise and Non-boring Introduction

One of the big challenges with running a YOU-Shaped business is explaining what you do. If you:

  • Offer a service that people aren't familiar with
  • Do more than one thing
  • Combine services, tools or modalities into something new, different or complex

How do you summarize it quickly when someone asks you what you do? And more importantly – how do you say it in a way that attracts attention and is easily understood.

It's enough to make you wished you'd become an accountant instead — at least it would be simple to explain!

If you find yourself stumbling, mumbling or rambling when asked about what you do — this workshop is for you.

In 20 minutes, Patty will show you 3 different approaches to answering this question — none of which involve elevators, memorizing boring scripts or saying you're an accountant just because it's easier!

Speaker: Patty K, Business Coach, Educator and Co-Conspirator

Patty KPatty K is on a mission to change the world by helping wise women create YOU-Shaped businesses. Her clients are the coaches, consultants and wellness practitioners who are in business to help people and make a positive difference in the world.

As a systems analyst, she freelanced as a web developer, technical trainer and e-learning specialist. For the past 5 years she has offered business coaching, training programs, copywriting and website development services.

In her workshops, group programs and 1:1 coaching services, Patty helps her clients figure out what to sell, how much to charge and who is going to buy. Then she helps them implement a sales and marketing system designed to attract happy paying clients. Along the way, she provides support, encouragement and accountability as her clients boldly realize their visions and do the sometimes scary work of putting themselves and their ideas into the world.

Barbara Sher's Idea Party

I love an Idea Party! Have you ever been to one? They are such fun. Bring any dream, any wish. Tell us about it. Then tell us what obstacle you're facing as you go for it.

Be specific. Don't say you need more money or more time. Tell us what you'd do with that money or time. I'll ask everyone else to tap into their rich base of experiences, knowledge and connections for ideas on how to get around your obstacle. You'll be amazed at their ideas!

Some will sound perfect, others less so. But tell us what you like about every idea. Then ask for ideas on how to tweak any of them to better fit your situation. It works like a charm!

Even if you're not in need of ideas right now, join us. You'll be surprised how easily you can help others achieve their dreams and how great this feels.

The Gardener's Gift

I really believe that God gives everyone many gifts and talents and it is our job to find out what they are, to use them and share them with others. If our gift or talent that is not shared — then they are just a pretty package that is never opened. I hope to help women explore their own gifts and talents — and perhaps to see how they have changed — regardless of what stage — or season — they may be in.

How to Show Up Without Showing Off

If someone were to ask you — in an interview, or even at a party — “Tell me about yourself,” what would you say? What is the story you tell about yourself?

And, would it feel powerful, articulate and authentic?

Too often, we fear that saying anything positive about ourselves will be seen as “showing off.” In perennial efforts to “fix” our weaknesses, we waste focus on negatives.

Imagine focusing on your strengths — what's right with you — rather than your limitations.

Being able to articulate your strengths will help build your confidence and the presence to share your best self with the world. You can better choose the opportunities that allow you to show up with your whole, authentic and powerful self.

Using the Dependable Strengths Articulation Process, Kate will show you how to begin uncovering your unique strengths to compose your authentic story.

(Note: While Kate works primarily with recovering academics, truly, anyone can benefit from this introspective process.)

Speaker: Dr. Kate Duttro, career coach to “recovering” academics

Kate DuttroRecovering Academic and Career Coach Kate Duttro has “been there” – and after a scanner career of changing careers, she found her niche in coaching other recovering academics how to find the work that's right for them as individuals. Her own career changes, true to normal form, were full of exploratory missteps, telling realizations and luck that may not have been accidental, although it seemed so at the time.

Her academic careers included anthropology (fieldwork in Guatemala, Peru, Bolivia and Honduras, and teaching at Penn State University and James Madison University). Among other wandering career learnings: contract archaeology, sheep farming, teaching university undergrads English composition, many part-time and freelance writing/editing gigs, corporate communications for a horse farm and rural community economic development.

When she found that career development could be a career, she re-trained again and worked 10+ years as a career counselor at the University of Washington.

Part of her career training, the Dependable Strengths Articulation Process, was key to realizing that her own career had largely followed the thread of her strengths, beyond her awareness. Since then, she has articulated and built on her strengths, while constructing the career she chose.

As a Master Trainer in the Process, she shows recovering academics and others how they too, can choose and construct their own careers.

Take a Break — Make Way for Your Creativity

Sensitive, creative people often get overwhelmed. It's annoying, and it can be an obstacle on the way to our dreams. I'll show you how awareness for your body and emotions is a great tool to stop stress and reconnect with yourself. This instant reset can be very useful: By stopping and going on in a calmer, more focused way, we can succeed in making the most of our dreams and talents.

Speaker: Jana Lindberg, Scanner, writer, artist, trainer and counsellor, adventurer of the mind

Jana LindbergMain topic of Jana's blog: life as a healing path of self-development toward creativity. She's especially interested in talented people who struggle with difficulties from their past. She wants to tell them that it's possible to slowly transform these obstacles, to do some healing work and get the unique life you need to live your full potential.

Telling Our Stories From The Inside Out

Our stories make us uniquely human. They connect us to one another, and to the greater universe. Yet we rarely pay them the attention they deserve. In this mini-workshop, you will learn how to truly hear the stories you tell yourself for what they are, and to gain control over them through writing.

Speaker: Gail McConnon, author and explorer of the stories we tell ourselves

Gail McConnonGail McConnon is a big picture thinker, who writes to make sense of the challenges life throws in our path. She delights in the creative power of metaphor to create change, and thoroughly enjoys helping others explore and give written voice to the stories they tell themselves about the issues through which they define themselves. Beyond that, Gail is a lover of all things tailed and caffeinated — particularly dogs, cats, coffee, and chocolate — and many things that are not. You can find her online at gailmcconnon.com.

Change Your Thoughts; Change Your Life

Whether we like it or not, our runaway minds with their thoughts and beliefs run our lives.

Is your mind working for or against you? Does it serve you or make your life a living hell? How can you tell if your thoughts are friends or foes?

In this mini-workshop, you will learn how your mind creates the reality you live with daily. You will learn ways to interrupt your thought patterns and substitute them with constructive ways of interpreting life events. You will learn how to make your mind work for you.

For this workshop to be useful to you, please think of an event that happened that really upset you, made you lose your cool, or flung you into the Slough of Despond; for example, a car rear-ended you or a friend snubbed you. Think of something simple, since we can't do work on a deep or traumatic issue in 30 minutes. I will show you the principles and help get you started. So bring along a pen, some paper, and an open mind that’s willing to be shown a new and different way. 🙂

    • The link is in the description of her book, and it brings you to this page, where we describe the workshops. On this page, click on the workshop title to hear it. Or drag the title onto your desktop or iTunes icon to download a copy

  2. Dear Lisa Dolce,
thanks for your inspiriring talk and eBook –
discovering that I am high-sensitive some years ago was really great experience – that I am ok (simliar to hearing first about scanners).
it completely resonates to me as a HSP – I also always heard “you are too sensitive”- “you and your feelings”
and I took all these things that you call “Superpower” as normal, not as a special gift – as I just have it, empathy, deep listenign and feeling and so – (except deep relationships and creative vision)
And I was wondering, why all that marketing talk does not really resonate and work for me – now I better understand and appreciate myself for this.
    thanks.
    Astrid

    • Thanks for your note Astrid. I am so glad you found the e-book and tele-summit session inspiring. I agree as well–this HSP awakening and journey has been such an enlightening experience.! It was a big aha for me too realizing why mainstream methods of marketing didn’t work for me. Then realizing it was o.k for me NOT to use them because my HSP gifts and skills are even better! To more understanding and appreciating for all of us HSP’s…

  3. I just heard Janice Dean’s telesummit workshop on shyness — but was too “shy” 🙂 to comment at the end.
Actually, I was still busy taking notes.
So I want to say now how much I enjoyed your warmth, Janice, and the very useful information you imparted. Also, it was fun to get to do some inadvertent acting (“Hi, Sally”) with the rest of the audience. Thank you!

  4. Perfect timing for me: came home from 3 weeks in France this night. Friday is reorganizing day, and I clearly want to get ready with everything to have a free weekend, ;-). Monday school and work starts.
I will listen to all 10 hours, everything interests me, even the blood sugar dog. A friend of mine has one.
I feel full of energy already, ….you know this fresh view on everything after a long, happy journey.
Now followed by a luxury bathing for my mind. Plus luxury English listening comprehension lessons. Ooops, just noticing I am a bit worrying, whether I will understand everything.
Well, the “understand everything” is not the words anyway, so I will listen with an open mind and try to benefit as much as possible. I am enjoying the excitement till tomorrow and thankyou for this Saturday oportunities !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I go on now with clearing our mobile home….;-)
    Greetings to all !
    Sonja H

    • 🙂 “Well, the “understand everything” is not the words anyway, so I will listen with an open mind ” If anyone can hear what’s being said, it’s you, Sonja. Glad you’ll be there. (Hope *I* can do the whole day!!!)

  5. Great, I just planned my Saturday evening und early sunday morning with these workshops, here in Germany.
Will it be possible to enjoy these workshops without telephone, also??

Whowever, many thanks for this big opportunity to celebrate all these workshops free!

    Warmest regards from Rheinland/Germany

  6. Barbara – WOAH! Fan-tas-tic! Thank you! I’ll be there, with bells on! These workshops and talks are arriving at the right time in my life. Astrologically, September is the month of endings and the beginning of a new nine year cycle for everyone. Fresh, new and invigorating times ahead, and here you are (and your band of other wonderful empowerers) arming us with all the tools necessary to surge ahead with confidence.
Thank you all! I’m very grateful for your generosity.

  7. I am very interested in this but I will be traveling on Saturday September 10th. Will there be a recording available online later in the month? I do not return home until September 27th.

    • I’m sure there are quite a few Southern Hemisphere members like myself who missed out on listening to these great talks. If a recording is not available are you going to release a list of where the authors books may be available to purchase?

      • We scheduled to include Europe, the US, and Sydney/Melbourne, where our speakers live. And we recorded it all. We hope to get it edited and online in a week or so, and we’ll announce it in Barbara’s newsletter when we do. In the meantime, please visit http://barbarasclub.com/telesummitbooks/ right away. You folks in the southern hemisphere have a great advantage here, because all those book-buying bonuses will continue to be available for another 90 minutes, even though it’s time for a well-deserved sleep here.
