Traditional or Self-Publishing for Your Book?

What is it like to publish your book with a traditional publisher these days? How do you land a publishing contract? When will you see your book and your money? What will they expect from you? And how is self-publishing different? What are your self-publishing options? How much will it cost you? What tasks will you need to tackle to get your book out there? Both self-publishing and traditional publishing are real options these days, and the differences just might surprise you. They surprised me when I first started on my writing and publishing journey.

Tap into the Power of Project Work

What propels a stay-at-home mother to apply to graduate school? How does someone, who talked about writing a book for 18 years, end up publishing it in one year? How does an idea become reality in a matter of hours? The answer to these three questions: Project Work.

In this workshop, organizational psychologist, Patrice Jenkins, teaches how to transform an idea into reality through the power of Project Work. Learn how to create focus and clarity, increase your commitment, and define specific milestones that will fuel your effort and enthusiasm. If your dream or idea matters, it’s time to give it project-status. As author Seth Godin says, “Sooner or later, all important work becomes project work.”

Jumpstart Your Creative Art Project!

The easiest way to start a new writing project is to tune into your personal instincts. Each of us is attracted to different components of the creative process. Identifying and using those specific factors as the backbone of your project will strengthen your motivation, simplify your choices, and ensure your “work” flows more naturally.

Do you like to convey ideas or to relate events?
Do you instinctively lean toward poetry or toward dissertation?
Do you want to play with dialog or simile or storylines?
Do you prioritize cohesiveness, or do you prefer to accent drama?

Find out what draws you to write the way you do it best! Get a head start when you discover what really intrigues you the most.

Join me for this workshop that focuses on the essential parts of design for a literary work, but that can be applied to auditory and visual projects as well.

Organizing & Clearing Tidbits

Organizing creates clarity, peace of mind, and room for more growth. Many people talk about clearing clutter, but unless you are intentional about the process, it doesn’t happen. However, when it does happen, the old saying, “Clearing Clutter for Clarity” really comes into play. So how DO you clear clutter? One piece at a time. You know the drill, sort it out. “Keep” | “Donate” | “Refuse/Trash”. Beyond those ideas, we also need systems in place to keep the clutter at bay. That is where some organizing tidbits come into play. Some of the ideas you may know or even do, but perhaps there will be some tidbits that create that “Ah Ha” moment and you can trampoline off into organizing a section of your home or clearing out some clutter that no longer resonates with you. Grab a cup of tea and come join me as I go over some tidbits that may help you on your journey to an organized life.
