See my answer above, Lisa.
Barbara, I’m even more muddled now. I didn’t know we were supposed to send you our “homework” ( I’m way behind anyway). Thought we were just supposed to “hang out” here by the fire, drinking our hot choc and sharing our observations – about what’s happening in our lives, and insights about the exercises??
Alex, these other folks are in Barbara’s coaching course, while you are, indeed, supposed to be hanging out by the fire with her. Earlier, I made the mistake of thinking Nicole was in Hanging Out with you when I mentioned Tuesday’s deadline for refunds on Hanging Out. You and I can just put our feet back up and enjoy.
There are no assignments for Hanging Out people, Alex. (That *is* who you are, right?).
Well, I did suggest on the first Wednesday that you find a spice, pluck it off a bush preferably, and sniff it.
The first Friday I told a story about Rubinstein and a bug on a windowsill, and happiness.
Do you remember these things? If not, I’ll send you a list.
Nicole, just send an email to webmaster@barbarasclub.com. The money back guarantee expires at 11:59 pm NY time on the 16th for those who joined Hanging Out in November.
I kind of agree with Nicole. I’m not quitting though. I do find it quite hard to follow the conversation threads. Lots of half comments or, particularly, I can’t refind a good comment from previously. Bit frustrating. And I feel very ineffectual.
Suppose it would be ok if you spent concentrated, focussed time here?
Really glad you’re staying, Alex. As Riss has pointed out, the Sher Boards at http://boards.barbarasher.com are available for ongoing discussions of topics beyond Barbara’s Hanging Out messages. If you’re talking about one of her messages, you will always know where to find the discussion. The Hanging Out page lists links to all of the messages.
Thanks, Patty. Do I log in with my HO but or do I need a new one?
You must register separately, and the login is done with the username that gets displayed with your comments, so you won’t want to use your email address.
Dear Barbara,
did you receive my answers to Karaoke/Actorteacher/Feedback?
I didn´t receive an answer of you yet. If I have to send the answers again, please let me know.
Yours Lisa (Elisabeth)
I just discovered that I have not been receiving notifications of *anything* people wrote. My mail service has simply stopped sending me anything for the last two weeks – and I didn’t realize it. I’ve got the list and I’m going through it and answering everyone, but it takes a long time and I’m still not caught up.
But now you’ll be doing co-coaching, not assignments like the ones you’ve done before, and I’ll be able to get to everyone. We have over 45 people, and most of you have written in about 5 pieces of homework assignments (I’m happy to say!) so it will take time for me to catch up.
Thank you very much, Barbara, so please take your time!
I appreciate your patience, Lisa. Was up until 4:30am last night trying to catch up. (I did get to sleep until noon, so you don’t have to feel *too* sorry for me. 🙂 )
I’ll get there. And the co-coaching begins soon which means the homework should be put in second place by those who haven’t completed it yet. I’ll be sending an announcement soon.
Dear Barbara,
I think it would be very helpful to have a list with all the names/emails/foto of the participants of the coaching class 2015 to get a better overview who is in the class and how people look like. That would make it much easier to get to know everybody. Can you provide such an overview on ths site?
Best regards
Hanna
Everyone has not consented to share their email addresses with the class Hanna, but you’ll get to know many of your fellow students during the co-coaching. And if you like it so much that you continue, you’ll get to work with everyone and get to know everyone very well. Turning into a community is what is needed if you are to be successful coaches, and that’s exactly what I hope we’ll be building here.
I cannot get in there is no sign in area on the web site for me to get in.
Is the site down?
Please advise thank you!
Click on Member Profile in the menu, Debbie.
I’ve managed to log on to HO on my main computer but can’t do it on my iPad ( which is where I’ll be accessing HO mostly. Help??
Alex Pilgrim
Alex, most problems with logging on come from an extra space or tab before or after the email address or the password. This is especially likely if either of them is copied and pasted. If you’re enough of a power user that you might have actually disabled Javascript (note: not the same as Java) in your browser settings, you will need to enable it for this site. You should be able to view the site with an iPad.
Hi, Barbara,
Would you be willing to write a book review for “The Molly Chronicles?”
I can e-mail you the text if you want it. But I also know that you’re much busier than I am, so if you feel you’ve read enough of Molly’s work to make a recommendation, that would be fine as well.
Thanks for ALL the help. This book would not have happened without you and Patty and all my friends from Hanging Out and The Boards.
I’m sure I answered this personally, but just in case (jic), the answer is, of course, yes. I am honored that you asked me.
I’m looking for an e-book version of Refuse to Choose to buy for my wife. We’re in South Africa and usually buy direct from Amazon.co.uk for her Kindle but doesn’t look like Refuse to Choose is available. Do you know where I might buy a copy?
Thanks,
George
Hi George.
I am sorry to say, for reasons beyond my understanding, that the publisher of that one book doesn’t permit a Kindle reading outside of the U.S. The U.K. publisher had an identical edition of the book called, “What do I do when I want to do everything?” but they stopped printing it. So it can only be found in hard copy online in hard copies (paperbacks). I wish I could help. It’s an important book for Scanners to read and I understand your reasons for wanting to show it to your wife. But, apparently, only a hard-copy – new or used – is available to you. (Or to me! I live in France.)
Which blog? I have a lot of them. 🙂
